Instructions
Classical Themes arranges music from past to present (early music, classical, contemporary music, operetta, musicals, etc.) according to subjects and motives as well as names of composers.
Please note that the original database was written in german.
It was possible to translate the themes, but not all the different titles.
The various search options are:
Pre-selection of topics for the present directory
Your choice of topic in the keyword search
Name of composer
Keyword search in the title
A precise overview can be established by preselecting the directory of themes.
Examples
Goethe, Johann Wolfgang (list of all published works, in which Goethe himself is the subject)
Goethe - Faust (list of all works to the Faust sub-theme)
The names of the composers are listed alphabetically in the final results of the search topics.
The results of the name of the composer's topics are listed alphabetically.
The search results show:
Title, art form/genre, literary source (often given in parentheses), musical instruments, list of works, year of origin / year of first performance and the length of the song.
But only if all details are available.
Abbreviations in the title, not shown in the list of abbreviations, always refer to the topic
or the name of the composer.
